Computing
At Parkside, all pupils from Reception to Year 8 have a weekly dedicated Computing lesson taught by a specialist teacher.
The main aim of the Computing curriculum is to give the pupils a basic understanding of how computers work and a taste of what it takes to write code. The intention is that by learning about how computers and programming are so key to all parts of modern society, it will inspire them to become further interested in Computer Science.
This will open up many different avenues in the future that will include working with and programming computers. The lessons are uniquely designed to provide the pupils with the digital skills that will be expected of them at their senior schools, a modern workplace, and most importantly, equip them with the skills they need to thrive in the digital world that we now live.
